Traite de la Gloire. By Louis-Isaac Lemaistre de Sacy and printed in Paris by Pierre Huet. 1716, 280 pp, 5.75 x 3.5 , 16mo, full leather hardcover. In good condition, with minor rubbing and bumping to boards, primarily along edges and corners. Hinges remain tight and bound well, save for light wear at the bottom of the back hinge. Text block remains nicely bound and intact. Marginalia to front of book including title page. General age-related toning to pages, along with periodic foxing and wear. Please see photographs and ask any questions prior to purchasing. A scarce religious work by Louis-Isaac Lemaistre de Sacy (1613-1684), a French priest, writer, humanist, and theologian. De Sacy is best known for his translation of what would be called the Port Royal Bible after his city of residence, which remained the most common bible in 18th Century France.
