The second U.K. edition, preceded by only 500 - 750 copies of the first. A scarce two volume set, rapidly being replaced by the much more common one volume edition, and Twain's only two volume first. 32pp ads in the end of volume 2 dated April 1880. The first edition was published in February. A very good solid set in publisher's decorated cloth, a bit stained and darked, inconspicuous old repairs at the tips, with previous owner's small bookplates to each of the pastedown.
