This G+ quality format #2 book (as per Mattson & Davis's bibliography--7-1/2" tall, more binding colors than yellow [red, gray, tan, brown, blue-green], and the entire front is covered with pictorial applique in colors) was published by New York Book in 1913. It has a slight lean, is very mildly soiled, with no corner bumps or edge dings; the head and heel of the spine are also bumped, with no fraying. Bottom edges and corners have a slight amount of wear. The spine is moderately soiled. The front panel applique is barely worn, very much intact and quite bright and colorful (see photo). One flaw this book does have is deteriorating fabric: along both gutters and less so along all the edges, the binding color is breaking down and exposing the fabric beneath--the front gutter is the worst (see photo). Except for two inked names on the FFEP, the interior is free of writing, stray marks and paper damage of any type; there are several pages with minor, non-intrusive stains. The frontis is intact. The paper is somewhat toned and not fragile, though it is a bit stiff. The hinges are intact and strong. The book lists the first six titles in this series, all published in 1913.
