The Kintyre Club was formed in 1825, with the aim of helping the educational needs of those children in need. They conducted educational activities, prizes and bursaries for students, including providing fees for University education. With dark green leather spine and corners, and green cloth over boards. Printed motif to front cover with tooled gilt spine with raised bands. Some scuffng, bumping and wear to leather, and cloth is rubbed. Spine is sunned. Marbled edges to text block. Rear endpapers beginning to crack at inner hinge, but all soundly bound. Small Glasgow bookseller's label to first pastedown. Mild spotting to endpapers. With tissue guarded pictorial frontispiece facing title. Text is bright and clean throughout. Text in English. xxiv + 960pp. Dimensions: approx 166mm high x 110mm wide x 57mm deep.
