Buchbeschreibung The Norris Modern Press Ltd., Douglas, Isle of Man, 1948. Hardcover (Original Cloth). Buchzustand: Very Good. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: Good. Third Edition. contents; illustrations list & author's preface to front; Two Men of Manxland is a study of the lives of two eminent Manxmen, one of whom desired fame and fortune in his own generation, and the other who wished for nothing so much as the love of his fellow Manxmen, and the remembrance of posterity. Hall Caine was in his day one of the most widely read and successful of English novelists: T. E. Brown was known to only a comparatively few people as a great English scholar and the greatest Manx poet. This book is an intimate and fascinating story of both men, and puts them in clear and unmistakable perspective. The author, though not a Manxman, has devoted a lifetime to Manx Constitutional Reform and public service in the 'Isle of Man, and has written voluminously on Isle of Man affairs.
