Beschreibung
A wonderful collection of short stories by a popular American author, bound in charming decorative cloth. Containing eight short stories including 'The Little Black Hen', 'The Widow and her Daughter', 'The Prince in Disguise' and 'The Rose in the Desert'.Written by American author Susan Warner, best known for 'The Wide, Wide World', which is considered by many to be the U.S.A's first best-seller besides 'Uncle Tom's Cabin. With the gift inscription to the verso of the front endpaper; 'With Eva's love to Edith, March 3rd 1891'.Bound in the publisher's colourful cloth, making this a lovely example of this popular American collection. In the publisher's original full cloth binding. Externally lovely; spine is a little faded as to be expected, and boards have the odd mark. Gift inscription to the front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean; pages 52 and 53 are offset from an old newspaper clipping, and otherwise just the odd spot. Very Good.
