"Typographic Heritage" contains six essays written by Lawrence C. Wroth. Lawrence Counselman Wroth(1884 1970) was an Americanprofessor, historian, and librarian. His book, "The Colonial Printer" (1931), was the definitive book on the Americanprintingtrade during the period of 1639 through 1800. Wroth wrote over 550 articles and books and is most known for "The Colonial Printer" and "A History of Printing in Colonial Maryland: 1686-1776" (1922). The five essays in Typographic Heritage are: Printing and the Rise of Modern Culture in the Fifteenth Century; British Influence Upon American Printing; Corpus Typographicum; Benjamin Franklin: The Printer at Work; and The First Work with American Type. There is also an introduction by Carl Purington Rollins, and a concluding chapter about the book and its author, Lawrence Wroth, by Paul A. Bennett. This is one of 625 unnumbered copies printed.
