Two points of interest: 1) Mis-spelling of Harriet Beecher Stowe's name to cover: 'Harriette Beecher Stowe' and 2) addition to title: 'Or, Slave Life in America' The former is abbreviated to 'H.B. Stowe' to the title page. With regard to the 'subtitle' my research notes many variants. The first UK edition has "a Tale, Life among the Lowly'. All Gall & Inglis imprints seem to have fixed on this title. Undated. c.1900? Gilt edges. Attractive pictorial cloth is bright; some abrasion to corners and marks to rear.
