Boston: John P. Jewett & Company, 1852. Early printing, 95th thousand, copyright 1851, title pages dated 1852. Worn condition. Two matching volumes in dark brown cloth lettered and decorated in gilt, all edges gilt, 12 pages of publisher's ads at the end of volume II. Both volumes have binding wear, especially to corners and spine ends, as well as scuffing; both have hinges intact. Volume I has a chip along the front joint, a leaning binding and several sections of pages protruding out from the edge of the text block, none loosened or detached, occasional foxing and a spot on the outer edge of the first few pages, name in pencil on preliminary blank. Volume II is btter with binding sound but not tight, less foxing. Musty odor from attaic storage. . Hard Cover. Fair. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 049642
