Unicorn Jazz Help and Give Back

Little hands. Big hearts. So many ways to make a difference! This book - comes with a song also!

Children don't have to wait until they grow up to make someone's day brighter. HELP AND GIVE BACK, a colorful children's picture book from the Unicorn Jazz® series, celebrates the joy of helping others and discovering that everyone has something meaningful to share.

Join Jazz the Unicorn, Trezekke the Zebracorn, Woof the Crow, and friends as they put their imaginations to work finding ways to spread joy. With creative ideas and a spirit of teamwork, this caring crew explores how sharing our time, talents, and kindness can help make the world a little brighter.

What makes you unique can make a difference.

Some children love to draw. Others enjoy making music, sharing ideas, or lending a helping hand. This story invites young readers to think about their own strengths and imagine how they can use them to support others. Giving back begins with noticing a need and asking, How can I help?

Big ideas for growing hearts

• Discover the joy of helping. Introduce young children to acts of service and the many ways a thoughtful gesture can bring comfort, encouragement, or a smile.
• Share your time and talents. Explore how creativity, effort, and individual strengths can become meaningful gifts to others.
• Build a sense of belonging. Open conversations about community, inclusion, and making sure everyone has a chance to contribute.
• Work together. Follow friends who combine their ideas and efforts, offering a starting point for discussions about cooperation and shared goals.
• Care for the world around you. Think about ways to help people, care for animals, and look after nature.
• Practice gratitude and empathy. Invite children to notice the people who help them and consider what someone else might need.

For families, teachers, and librarians

Bring HELP AND GIVE BACK into family reading time, classroom read-alouds, homeschool lessons, or library storytime. Its themes connect naturally with social-emotional learning, character education, community service, and conversations about kindness.

Use the story to introduce a class project, inspire a family volunteering idea, or talk about everyday ways to be helpful. The message belongs in every season: children can contribute to their communities through thoughtful choices and acts of care.

Read it. Sing it. Put kindness into action.

The companion Help and Give Back song, performed by Emily Isabel, and its music video offer another way to enjoy the message together. Companion resources also include social-emotional learning activities, coloring pages, and cards, giving families and educators more ways to connect reading with creativity.

Let the story start a conversation

• What is something you enjoy doing that could help someone else?
• Who helps you, and how could you show your appreciation?
• What could friends accomplish by working together?
• How can we care for the people, animals, and places around us?

After reading, invite children to draw a helping idea, make a thank-you card, or plan a simple act of service with a grown-up. These activities can turn the story's themes into personal connections and give every child a way to participate.

A joyful addition to your home or classroom bookshelf

For children who enjoy unicorns, animal friends, and imaginative stories with heart, HELP AND GIVE BACK offers a warm invitation to share what they have to give. It celebrates community and the possibilities that grow when people care for one another.

Open the book, gather your helpers, and discover the joy of giving back. A brighter world can begin with one caring idea!
