An uncommon fourth edition of Nathan Bailey's popular eighteenth century dictionary. With the armorial bookplate of the 'Right Honourable the Lord Viscount Lymington' to the front pastedown. Viscount Lymington was the title held by John Wallop, the 2nd Earl of Portsmouth. In a contemporary panelled calf binding with a 'I' to the spine, implying that this work was once bound alongside the separate supplementary volume which was first issued in 1727.
