Réimpression en fac-similé, tirée sur papier bouffant des papeteries de Casteljoux, de l'ouvrage publié en 1960, illustré de lithographies de Fernand LEGER en couleurs et en noir d'après la maquette de François MONOD. A truly lovely book, a 25x35cm facsimile of the original limited edition published that same year, this is no. 4580, and the only one we could see on abe with a dust jacket in this price range. The book is graced by Leger's stunning, bold lB&W and colour lithographs of his impressions of Maeria, London, Spain, Zurich, Berlin, France, Prague and Paris, which have been, reproduced under the supervision of Leger's widow Nadia, on thick "Velin bouffant" paper, with notes by Fernand Leger on his travels. The quarter bound blue boards w/silver titles & small Leger illustration are ever so slightly bowed, boards appear to be faux leather, possibly real leather, and have light wear only, which includes bit of rubbing at the head/foot of the spine, the edges are tanned with some spots, but the interior pages are clean save for perhaps the odd spot here or there, there's a faint impression of an old price (believe me, we paid a lot more for it than that!) on the brown ffep, the dust jacket has general wear, edge wear with chipping and a few small, closed tears, some tiny flecks, and, on the rear cover, a large coffee stain, but overall remains attractive thanks to Leger's bold illustration.
