"Valerii Maximi Dictorum Factorumque Memorabilium Libri IX" by Valerius Maximus - published 1650 - Amsterdam - Typis Ludovici Elzeverii -( Elzevir is the surname of the famous family of Dutch booksellers, printers and publishers of the 17th and 18th centuries ) "Elzevirs" are small , collectible reprints of the classics , Valerius Maximus a Latin author of a collection of historical anecdotes, writing during the reign of Tiberius 14AD to 37AD. Condition is good , rebound beautifully in quarter leather with marbled boards gilt title and date to spine. (see seller's images for condition generally) - atypically there is a loss to the bottom of one corner of one page (see seller's images)and some fairly unobtrusive insect damage from around page 57. Ps 228,c. 4.5" x 2", firm binding , coloured edges, notwithstanding the above flaws text block is in very good order indeed given its vintage, with the odd mark.
