, 125 tissue guarded illustrations, including 28 hand coloured plates and some original artwork, on various subject matters (including Convent of Rheinau, Bay of Naples, Napoleon, Falstaff, New Houses of Parliament, Linlithgo Palace, County Waterford, Gravesend, Ramsgate, London). There are several pages of facsimile signatures of famous people, numerous handwritten verses and prose, some original and some copied. Topics covered incude scandal, ballooning, Madras, a tale of the Polish Revolution, Ireland, a tomb inscription from Bengall, reflections off Ascension Island. One page features pressed Geranium leaves from Napoleon's tomb. Many of the entries state a location as well as date for example "Off the Cape of Good Hope July 1834". Many of the verses were copied from a journal called the Bolton Omnibus published aboard the ship "Bolton" by a man named Barringer who was also the author of the album which was presumably completed on the same voyage. The ship later took settlers to New Zealand.
