Beschreibung
A charmingly bound French language essay on the subject of bees. Maurice Maeterlinck (1862-1949) was a Belgian playwright and essayist, awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1911. His other works include 'The Intelligence of Flowers', 'The Life of the Ant' and 'The Life of Space'. He also published 'The Life of Termites' in 1926, but this has been accused of being plagiarised from 'The Soul of the White Ant' by Eugene Marais. This work has particular emphasis on the social life of the honeybee. With charming gilt detail to the spine, and the gilt emblem of Central Newcastle High School to the cover.Undated, dated from copies on Library Hub. In a half crushed morocco binding. Externally very smart, minor wear to the extremities. Prize bookplate to the front endpaper. Internally firmly bound, pages a touch age toned but otherwise bright and clean. Very Good Indeed. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 754R55
