Amsterdam and New York: N. Israel and Da Capo Press, (1967). Facsimile Edition. Fine/fine. Facsimile edition of that published by Thomas Jefferys, London 1761. Small 4to. Pp. 76. With an editor's (Jefferys') 6 pp. preface and a 43 pp. summary of "Voyages Made by the Russians on the Frozen Sea in Search of a North-West Passage." Simulate vellum. In the original clear protective jacket. Muller served as historian on Bering's expedition that set sail from Petropavlovsk 1741, composed of the ships "St. Peter" and "St. Paul." Muller's account, listed in Sabin as "indispensable for the history of discovery and exploration in the Northern Pacific," was initially published in St. Petersburg, 1759, but did not include the present title's six-page preface and four maps. Muller's history included material found in archives in the town of Jakutsk that reveals previously forgotten details concerning Deshnev's 1648 voyage in the North Pacific. This is #26 in the publisher's Bibliotheca Australiana series. SABIN, 51285; LADA-MOCARSKI, 17; EBERSTADT NW COAST, 7. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 713
