New edition of a leading reference on the field of colonoscopy

Waye's Colonoscopy offers a comprehensive review of colonoscopy, covering insertion methods in routine and anatomically complex colon, endoscopic diagnosis of precancerous lesions, and all aspects of polyp resection. Many special aspects are reviewed including radiographic imaging of the colon, the pathology of colorectal polyps, pediatric colonoscopy, medical-legal risk in colonoscopy, and screening and surveillance for colorectal cancer. Key concepts are illustrated in colorful figures and many procedures are demonstrated by experts in videos accessible on a companion website.

This Third Edition has been extensively updated and revised to cover major advancements in the field since the previous edition was published in 2009. These include developments in imaging that improve detection and characterization, artificial intelligence, the maturation of a worldwide movement to improve colonoscopy quality, the emergence of the cold revolution in resection, the enormous expansion of knowledge on wide field endoscopic mucosal resection, and the proliferation of endoscopic submucosal dissection.

Written by a team of internationally recognized experts, Waye's Colonoscopy includes information on:

• General aspects of colonoscopy, including endoscopy room assistants, cleaning and disinfection processes, and green practices
• Principles of electrosurgery in colonoscopy and management of antiplatelet agents and anticoagulants
• Optical characterization of colonic neoplasia and techniques and devices for optimizing neoplasia
• Overt cancer and covert cancer
• Full thickness resections
• Approaches to the unwell post-colonoscopy patient, and prevention and management of post-polypectomy bleeding and perforation

Waye's Colonoscopy is an essential reference for practicing colonoscopists, gastroenterology fellows, surgical and colorectal surgery residents, and others in training to perform colonoscopy or wishing to improve their knowledge base and colonoscopy skills.
