Two large volumes, quarterbound in cloth, with matching corners, paper sides, titles on spine. These two wonderful volumes are in reasonably good condition, normal wear, marks, stains and tear apply consistent with use and age. Fine Paper Edition, First Published in 1923, First Limited Edition of only 50 copies of which this is No. 9, signed in pen by the author H.F. Westlake. Corners slightly bumped and worn, boards a bit grubby, some slight staining and a wee bit of foxing to edge of papers, please see images. 272 pages in Volume I, 273 - 518 pages plus refence pages and a stunning colourful map of the abbey at the end in Volume II. Of this book three hundred and fifty copies have been printed on wove paper, fifty copies on hand made paper, and twenty five Author's copies on hand made paper. Printed for Philip Allan and Company at 5, Quality Court, Chancery lane, in the City of London and published by them on the tenth day of July, 1923. All pages intact, all pages, text, map and illustrations are in good clean readable order. Whilst these two amazing books show signs of wear, use and age, they still have a quality, fantastic reference about an awesome historical building in Central London and a most of all a really informative read.
