Über den Autor: Laura Dayton is the most prolific writer on the subject of women and weight training in the world. A Masters student in Mass Communications she began writing for bodybuilding magazines in the 1970s when her older brother Mike Dayton was competing. In 1984 her magazine Strength Training for Beauty catapulted the new sport of women's bodybuilding into the national spotlight and its ladies of the eighties were born. Unfortunately, steroid use brought a meteoric decline in the sport by the end of the decade. Laura continued writing for women's exercise and health publications, becoming a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and writing her first women's exercise book, Lower Body Solution. She also owned and operated a health club for women that provided her with great insights into the woman's workout psyche. In 2008 she decided to write the definitive guide for women and resistance exercise, and working with a talented artists and illustrators, completed WOW: Women Only Workouts in 2009. Laura lives in Napa, CA with her husband and three dogs. She remains active in life enjoying her workouts, dog shows, sailing, event coordination and freelancing for a variety interesting web projects.
