1938 First Edition; marked 1066 at the base of the front board. Heavy red cardboard cover with bright full color illustrations of Goofy on the front board and Mickey Mouse on the back board. Black cloth spine. Bumped corners and some rubbing wear to the bottom edge of the back board. Small book; 5 1/2" x 4 3/4"; 91pp. Pages are tanned with age. Former owner's name written in ink on inside cover and dated April 16, 1940; otherwise pages are unmarked, smooth and clean. B&W full page illustrations throughout. Binding is sound. Part of the Whitman Books (Western Publishing subdivision) series 1066, this is an early story featuring Goofy and Mickey Mouse (with an appearance by Pluto). The names Dippy and Goofy are used interchangeably throughout the book. While he is referred to as Dippy as a character, Mickey Mouse almost always calls him Goofy or Goof throughout the story.
