Large 8vo, pp viii, 510, double column text within ruled border, wood-engraved illustrations throughout including some full page, near contemporary half red morocco, spine gilt with raised bands, a little rubbed and with a short crack at one joint, last leaf torn and repaired without loss of legibility, a good sound copy, 'LARGE EDITION' variously described as 'Author's Large Edition' and 'Author's Own Edition' presumably to distinguish it from cheaper editions, bound from 64 weekly penny parts, issued as a sequel to the author's highly successful Robin Hood in similar format.
