This imaginative children's book contains text by acclaimed Australian author Mary Durack (1913-1994) and evocative colorful illustrations from her sister, acclaimed artist Elizabeth Durack (1915-2000). The book tells the delightful story of Aboriginal Australians, brother and sister Nungaree and Jungaree, and their adventure in search of their baby brother who is stolen by the Whirlwind Here-and-There. The book is illustrated throughout with countless b/w in-text lithographic illustrations and 12 tipped in plates, 9 in vibrant color and 3 in b/w (each measuring 8 3/4x6"). Binding with some rubbing to extremities, including the head and tail of the spine. A few light scratches and abrasions to the front cover, and some smudging and light scratches on the back.
