NOTES: "Weinreb took down a copy of that first catalogue from his shelves and pointed nostalgically to some of the more esoteric items; Danel Barbaro's edition of Vitruvius, printed in 1556 with Palladio's illustrations, for £135. 'See,' he said, 'here is another copy now priced at £2,400.' There was a set of Colen Campbell's Vitruvius Britannicus, three volumes with the additional volumes by Wolfe and Gandon published between the tears 1715 and 1771. Eighteen years ago it cost £100. Now he has a set in stock for £1,850. Stuart and Revett's Antiquities of Athens, measured and delineated (for the first time) and published in five very handsome volumes between 1762 and 1830, was offered in the catalogue for £65.
