Size of portfolio: 8 1/2 in. x 11 1/4 in., contains the bound German text booklet: "Aus Weltis Leben." 37 pp., with tipped-in black & white reproduction of a self portrait, and facsimile signature on the title-page, woodcut on p. 3, and three other tipped-in black & white reproductions of Welti's designs; five page booklet that identifies the various reproductions, and then the loose sheets, each with one or more tipped-in Welti's designs, some printed in brown tones, others in black & white, and divided into a section for etchings, and another for book illustrations, designs for bookplates, etc.; making a total of 50 illustrations, with those in the text booklet. The paste-board portfolio features a mounted, full-color reproduction of a Welti's design on the front cover, with the gilt-lettered title. The outside of the portfolio shows some creases, age-related tanning to edges; booklets, and cardboard mounting sheets show some light edge tanning.
