No edition or printing history on copyright page. 9-1/2" tall, 363 numbered pages; black binding, gilt lettering on spine, front board has a 8-15-16" x 6-3/8" applique (see photo); end pages decorated with an illustration of a row of 11 knights in chain mail; fore edge is trimmed. The book has been read and is worn but still in very good condition. The exterior is square, reasonably clean, free of edge dings, both lower front corners have modest wear, top front corner bumped with short fabric tear, head and heel of spine bumped and lightly worn and frayed; lettering on spine mildly worn but still quite readable; front applique has slight abrasion line across top 3/4" and a tiny chip near lower corner at spine; hinges are reasonably tight and not damaged in any fashion. The interior is completely free of writing, stray marks, stains of any sort and page damage of any type. Paper is very lightly toned and is very flexible. 13 illustrations by N. C. Wyeth are listed, present and undamaged. Condition of book consistent with being read but not abused. No other discernible or objectionable faults on book such as marks or writing within, stains, tears, chips, or other damage that would diminish its appearance.
