He lost everything that had given him a sense of worth and identity: his family, his record of religious faithfulness. Saul came to see that Jesus was worth more than all of it. To become a Christian is not merely to agree with a set of facts about Christ. It is to experience a radical reordering of what is valuable so that nothing is more valuable in the universe and in your life than him. Being identified with him is better than having an impressive reputation. Living under his authority is better than doing as you please. Becoming more like him is better than expressing yourself. Loving what he loves is better than getting what you've always wanted.And the reality is that no one comes to this radical shift without having their eyes supernaturally opened to the supreme worth of Jesus.
