Willy Scholte (Wilhemina Scholte), Am I Am, Stempelplaats, Amsterdam, 1985. 155 x 106mm. Artist's card hand-drawn in black felt tip with collage element on recto, also signed and dated in pencil by the artist on recto. Willy Scholte was one of very few women working at the Stempelplaats factory in the late 1970s and the early 1980s. As a keen autodidact, she became involved in the avant-garde activities at Stempelplaats and drew inspiration from the likes of Ulises Carrion and Aart van Barneveld. This is the work of a talented mail artist who is ripe for rediscovery. Here, Scholte has added a copyright symbol after her name in a confident statement of authorship. Condition: Fine.
