New condition maroon boards, dark maroon spine and gold spine lettering contained in a new condition color illustrated dust jacket. Includes Authors' Dedications; Theme Index; Alphabetical Index of Women; Index of Background Topics and Introduction. "Women of the Bible focuses on the lives of fifty-two prominent and not-so-prominent women in Scripture to help you approach the story of salvation with fresh eyes. The cast of characters is long and colorful, including women young and old, married and single. Though our culture is vastly different from theirs, we share many of the same emotional responses and struggles, still agonizing over infertility, worrying about children, longing for real affection, and struggling to find faith in times of darkness. By looking to the women of the Bible, we can deepen our understanding of Scripture, experience more of God's love, recognize His relentless jealousy, and discover His creative ability to bring good out of the most difficult circumstances. Women of the Bible offers a unique devotional program, combining five elements: inspiration, background information, Bible study, Bible promises, and prayer. Each week quickly becomes a personal retreat focused on the life of a particular woman: Monday: Her Story - a moving portrait of her life; Tuesday: Her Life and Times - background information about the culture of her day; Wednesday: Her Legacy in Scripture - a Bible study on her life; Thursday: Her Promise - Bible promises that apply to her life and yours; Friday: Her Legacy of Prayer - praying in the light of her story. Women of the Bible offers a unique devotional program designed for personal prayer and study or for use in small groups. Whether you dip into portions or read every page, it will help you make Bible reading a daily habit, nourishing your spiritual life." - from the inner front and rear jacket flaps. "Phenomenal! This is a book every woman will love - and for that matter, so will men!" - Marilyn Meberg, author and speaker. "What a gift Ann and Jean have given us in this book! They have painted a vivid, beautiful, and encouraging picture of the faithful women who have gone before us." - Sheila Walsh, author, speaker and recording artist. "A fresh and thoughtful perspective on the character, circumstances, and choices of these women. This book will fill you with comfort and vision and help you to recognize God's hand at work in your own life." - Twila Paris, Christian songwriter and recording artist. …

Shopbeschreibung
Vero Beach Books is an antiquarian bookseller with a constantly updated inventory of rare out-of-print books, signed books, children's books, plus a large inventory of ephemeral items such as major U.S. city newspapers going back 100 years and more, golden and silver age fine condition comic books (soon to be added), and many other ephemeral items as well as much more recent popular volumes. We have been in business for 25 years, originally known as Emerson Books (named after one of our owner's favorite authors, to wit, Ralph Waldo Emerson) located back then in Westport, Connecticut. That said, we are here to serve you, to offer you fine quality items that are conservatively described so that you will always be pleasantly surprised and delighted with your purchase. Twenty-five years in the bookselling business has borne out our stellar service oriented reputation; the only difference is that now we are located in the almost always sunny and warm climate of Vero Beach, Florida. Again, we are here to serve you and, as was the case when we were previously known on ABEBooks.com as Emerson Books, we will continue to offer our very popular 100% free search service for those hard to find books rare and out of print books. Oftentimes we are also able to obtain these rare finds at very good discounts to our customers' so it is always worth contacting us in such cases!
