Photoportrait of the artist by Alexander Kogan (Houston, 1982). Yakov Vinkovetsky (1938-84) eventually emigrated to the US where he worked as a geologist. As an artist he participated in the famous exhibition of unofficial art in Gaza Cultural Center (1974) and took part in a struggle for artistic freedom in the former Soviet Union.
