I am Author J. Eric Booker.

When I was about ten years old, just a wee lad, I first tried my hand at writing for an English assignment and actually wrote a short-short story, but because I did not have the vocabulary, or the understanding of English grammar, I gave up writing, but never did I give up reading.

It wasn't until the fall of 1999, when I was about twenty-eight years old and a manly man, that I once again became interested in writing...nearly 5 years after I got discharged honorably out of my 5-year stint with the U.S. Army.

A brilliant idea had struck me to write a "Who done it?" Murder-Mystery about a vile serial killer, yet to somehow make this book moralistic--make the ends justify the means. I approached a friend of mine about the idea, and became quite surprised when she told me, "It'll be a cold day in hell before you ever write a book!"

Throwing a laugh and shrugging my shoulders, I replied, "Well then....hell's about to freeze over!"

By Jan of 2000 I was persistently writing. Not surprisingly, over the years I ran into terrible difficulty after terrible difficulty...not including the hundreds of cold rejection letters from publishers.

Furthermore, I still barely understood how technical the English language really is, so I had to relearn all the rules from scratch. The one thing I had going for me was the fact that because I had never stopped reading books throughout my entire life, I had a pretty good vocabulary.

Approximately two years after I had finished writing my first story, I finally did find a publishing company to sponsor it and transform it into a book, which got discontinued only after 3 months. Name undisclosed of who the publisher was. What I can say is that even though things turned "really sour" with this publisher, as well another, I have ultimately discovered that WE Writers and Authors no longer need publishers. Indie-Publishing is the route for the 21st Century. CreateSpace is, after all, affiliated with Amazon.com, and nearly every other major internet retailer out there.
