Joyce Shintani

Dear Reader,

Note Dec 2024: Twelve years ago, I started writing a novel called "Paris Choice". This week, it went up for sale on Amazon. A lot of water under the bridge. Three composers have set my poems to music...Writing, music. Music, writing. Life. I'll be reading on TikTok soon. Catch you there! @shintani.writing_music. Thanks for having a look!

Note 2019: For several years I used a pseudonym for writing fiction: Vanessa Araya. A main reason was to spare my relatives from association with the topics of my writing. Another reason was that I had published musicological works under my real name (Joyce Shintani) for several years, and I wanted to keep those identities separate. In 2019, I celebrated my 66th birthday. The year before, they thought I had a stroke; it was 'only temporary amnesia'. Now, I'm trying to simplify and only publish under the Shintani moniker. Anyway, by now the relatives are dead or indifferent.
