Elma Schemenauer

Elma Schemenauer was born near the prairie village of Elbow, Saskatchewan, Canada. "As I grew up," she says, "I sank deep roots into prairie life and the traditions of my extended Mennonite family." After teaching for several years, Elma fulfilled a lifelong dream by moving into a publishing career in Toronto. She's the author of many books. The newest is YesterCanada: Historical Tales Of Mystery And Adventure. Her most recent novel is the 1940s Mennonite novel Consider the Sunflowers, which is set in Vancouver and rural Saskatchewan. Elma and her husband now live in Kamloops, British Columbia. There she writes, blogs, and takes walks on grassy hillsides that remind her of her prairie roots.
