Peter Robert Jordan

Born in Timaru 1967 to a local pharmacist and school teacher, Peter has been writing as a hobby since the age of 9 when he started writing a book of very short stories and a series of radio plays recorded on private audio tape. At the age of thirteen he was introduced to the technique of stop motion and with this way of making movies he wrote and produced short fiction films with his father's Super 8 camera throughout his high school years.

Another project in his high school years was his father's old train set. He rebuilt the set underneath the family's house he named the trainset "Trentsworth" and developed a history for the town, mainly to explain why a New Zealand alpine town had a European gauge rather than the standard narrow gauge. He also had to explain away a European castle that he was given as a model for the trainset one birthday. This trainset is the location of his first published novel, IVRRAC and will be the location of his new children's detective series - Trentsworth Terrors.

Peter went onto university to study Computer Science; there he wrote his first full comedy adventure, BOAS, which had his friends in continuous laughter and an updated version of this satirical work, is now being developed.

He moved to Auckland and began work at a charity as their Information Technology and database support person. There he married his wife Diana and they moved south to Geraldine to own and operate a backpackers' hostel. Here Peter was called by God to go into ministry and he began studying at Laidlaw College to study a Bachelor of Theology. They sold the business but remained in South Canterbury to enjoy the local lifestyle and giving Peter the opportunity to finish off the many stories he has been developing over the years.

With the super-8 movies, various other creative projects and the plots that Peter has been developing for over 30 years he has a large source of exciting plots and adventures to source from. So we can expect many good quality books for years to come by this imaginative author.
