Casper Harteveld

Casper Harteveld (1982) is a researcher in the faculty of Technology, Policy and Management at Delft University of Technology. He is further affiliated with Deltares, the research institute for water, soil and subsurface issues, and with CPS, the Delft Centre for Serious Gaming.

His research interests relate broadly to how information technology affects people and organizations and how such technology can be designed in more valuable ways. Specifically, he is currently interested in the interplay between socio-cognition and digital games in organizational contexts. He explores this topic by thoroughly investigating a game he designed. Aside from this research, he writes and speaks about almost anything on the topic of games and is still and a bit too much to his own concern occupied with doing, reflecting on, abstracting, and experimenting with how to design games for serious purposes.
