James L. Butler

James L. Butler has been writing novels for over twenty years, mostly science fiction for adult readers. But when it came time to introduce his nine year old son to the joys of writing, a change of genres was in order. He took on the challenge of creating a middle grade novel with the help of his son. They role played the dialog together to make sure it was how kids talked. They did research on the setting and science used in the story to ensure accuracy for inquiring young minds. They created, read, rewrote, edited and read again to get the story as perfect as it could be. The result is a story created for kids with kids that touches the heart, stirs the imagination and inspires the value of being a true friend when the chips are down.
