Jay Mathis Horne was borne in December of 1980 in Jackson, Mississippi, the second son of James and Martha Horne. In the early 1980’s his parents would move to Florida where they would bare his sister Jillian Mae. The Horne family stayed close to Tampa, FL up through the better part of the 1990’s in their home on Lutz Lake Fern road.
Jay’s father worked with Amoco Oil, owning five stations of his own up until the late 1990’s when they would move to Nashville, TN.
During the early teen years of his life Jay wrote Published Youth Volume one and two but would not get them into circulation until late in the 2000’s when he began self publishing his own work. Jay’s teen years were ridled with unexpected moves and changes in lifestyle.
During early 2000 he joined the US Navy and qualified for the BUD/S, Navy Seal Program. He would spend his next years in Coronado, CA training with BUD/S class 243. During his time in the military he wrote constant philosophy, mailing each letter to his old address as to not forget anything.
It wasn’t until August of 2009 that he would publish his first work, Life’s a Joke! while working at a local fast food joint and having a spiritual experience during his shift.
After being chewed up and spit out by every acquaintance he had held company with and persevering with his honesty, he finally put the pen to paper.
His close friends, one the world’s greatest teeter board artist, Mircea Petre, two, the Google on-line mogul, Woody Short, and his new friend and boss while selling health insurance, Anthony Biagi, world show him that every darkness has its’ dawn and every rose its’ thorn.
The motivation provided by his long lost friend, Denika Smallwood, helped him edit and proof his first public manuscript and it was released as a paperback and digital edition in 2010.
Since the release of Life’s a Joke! Jay has published ten works digitally and 6 books physically. He published Grandparents & Grand lessons by: Margena Myrick and 3 consecutive volumes after the main book hit stores.
Jay contributes his success mostly to his parents who have dealt with his constant trip-and-fall learning process along the way. If not for them, “There’s no telling where I’d be.” he says.
Since his first publication he has released a book about a man working third shift at Waffle House title, As The Waffle Burns, a book on the Neolithic Teachings of ancient mind, The Perfection of Life, the Teaching Ninja Series, which includes four volumes, and the Hilarious SHIFT Series that currently has Five Episodes.
Currently he has submitted numerous short stories to well established magazines increasing his credibility, and with the release of his hit novel HUBUDI this year, he is finally getting some much needed R&R and helping others publish their dreams.
