Collin Earl

A native of Washington State, Collin grew up disliking being read to and school in general. Girls, sports, and work held far more appeal for him. Despite irregular attendance, he graduated from Moses Lake High School and went on to Boise State University in Idaho, where he earned a BA in social sciences. Like his father and his brother, Collin wanted to become a lawyer, and he pursued that dream energetically throughout his studies. He could not have known that his father would one day leave his career as an attorney, or that his brother would move to Costa Rica. As unexpected as that was, what surprised him even more was his own growing interest in writing and storytelling. Collin devoured countless novels (averaging a book a week for nearly a year), developed a story idea, and began to write.

Podcast novels, self-publishing, eBooks, and writing in general came about, much like his move to the state of South Dakota, by accident and entirely unexpectedly. Collin spent more than a year writing a story, only to arrive at a realization that was as true as it was terrible: fantasy fans are brutal. Absolutely brutal. They are especially passionate about the authors and stories they love. Collin spent many hours rewriting his first novel, The House of Grey, into a story that fantasy fans and everyone else could enjoy alike. He drew inspiration from a wide range of independent literary sources, including Indian folklore and Japanese anime. After graduating from the University of South Dakota School of Law, Collin moved to Colorado with his wife and two beautiful daughters, settling just down the street from his producer and co-author, Chris Snelgrove. Today, Collin works as an attorney while devoting himself, with great enthusiasm, to writing fantastical stories for his fans.
