Originally a Londoner he has lived in Sweden and Germany. Now living in the Lake District UK, with Charlie and Archie his black Labradors.
Born in London in 1947, John was a lead guitarist in a rock band in the early 1960s, a guitar tester at Vox and a session player. After working at Sadler's Wells and the London Opera Centre, when Dame Kiri Te Kanawa and Robert Lloyd were students there, John went on to study Singing and Piano at the Royal Academy of Music, where his peers were, among others, Sir Simon Rattle and Dame Felicity Lott. He spent time as a Buddhist monk in Thailand and broadcast for BBC Schools Radio and BBC Radio 4 on Buddhism, in the 1970s.
For the last thirty years he has been a Negotiation Skills trainer for multi-national companies and Governments.
He is a Community First Responder team leader for the North West Ambulance Service.
His second novel 'K620-The Magic Flute' on the sinking of the Russian Submarine 'Kursk' will be published in early 2018.
