Martha Kennedy

Martha Kennedy hat drei Werke historischer Fiktion veröffentlicht. Ihr erster Roman, Martin of Gfenn, welcher die Geschichte eines jungen, im Zürich des 13ten Jahrhunderts lebenden Freskomalers erzählt, erhielt den Editor's Choice Preis von der Historical Novel Society Indie Review und das BRAG Medaillon von IndieBRAG in 2015.

Ihr zweiter Roman, Savior, ebenfalls ein BRAG Medaillon Honoree (2016), erzählt die Geschichte eines jungen Mannes im 13ten Jahrhundert, der seine Depression bekämpft -- und sich selbst entdeckt -- indem er auf einen Kreuzzug zieht. Ihr neuster Roman, The Brothers Path, eine lose Fortsetzung von Savior, folgt derselben Familie dreihundert Jahre später auf ihrem Weg durch die Reformation.

Kennedy hat außerdem viele Kurzgeschichten und Artikel in verschiedenen Publikationen, von der Denver Post bis hin zur Business Communications Quarterly, veröffentlicht.

Kennedy wurde in Denver, Colorado, geboren und erhielt ihren Bachelor-Abschluss in Amerikanischer Literatur von der University of Colorado, Boulder, und ihren Magister in Amerikanischer Literatur von der University of Denver. Sie hat im College und an der Universität Englisch sowohl als auch Geschäftskommunikation und Literatur unterrichtet.

Viele Jahre lang lebte sie in der Nähe von San Diego, zuletzt in Descanso, einer kleinen Stadt in den Bergen von Cuyamaca. Sie ist vor kurzem nach Colorado zurückgekehrt und wohnt in Monte VIsta im San Luis Valley.

Martha Kennedy has published three works of historical fiction. Her first novel, Martin of Gfenn, which tells the story of a young fresco painter living in 13th century Zürich, was awarded the Editor’s Choice by the Historical Novel Society Indie Review and the BRAG Medallion from IndieBRAG in 2015.

Her second novel, Savior, also an BRAG Medallion Honoree (2016), tells the story of a young man in the 13th century who fights depression — and discovers himself — by going on Crusade. Her newest novel, The Brothers Path, a sequel to Savior, looks at the same family three hundred years later as they find their way through the Protestant Reformation.

Kennedy has also published many short-stories and articles in a variety of publications from the Denver Post to the Business Communications Quarterly.

Kennedy was born in Denver, Colorado and earned her undergraduate degree in American Literature from University of Colorado, Boulder and her graduate degree in American Literature from the University of Denver. She has taught college and university writing at all levels, business communication, literature and English as a Second Language.

For many years she lived in the San Diego area. She has recently returned to Colorado to live in Monte Vista in the San Luis Valley.
