Wayne Talbot

Wayne (no middle name, there was a shortage due to the war) Talbot was born in Sydney Australia, 9th December 1941. After high school, he joined the Royal Australian Air Force as a Military Air Traffic Controller but wanting to experience more, moved on to an IT career in manufacturing, mining, software development, pre and post sales consulting, and other related roles. With a passion for a travel and a desire to visit every country in the world, he nevertheless fell well short - work and holidays taking him to only 60 countries but all continents including the Antarctic. Retiring in 2004, he continued to indulge his life-long passion for motorcycling, touring Bolivia, Peru, Turkey, and northern India including the highest navigable road in the world - Khardung La at 18,300 ft.

After a time spent restoring vintage motorcycles, he turned his hand to writing, his first book "The Dawkins Deficiency" being a secular refutation of Richard Dawkins' "The Greatest Show on Earth".

Studying both the Christian and Jewish versions of the Old Testament, and modern Messianic Jewish renderings of the New Testament, it was apparent that there were fundamental differences between the Jewish and Gentile versions. Believing that there is but one truthful narrative, Wayne began seeking that truth resulting in a series of works under the title: From the Back Pew. The series title was chosen in recognition of his having no formal theological training. Nonetheless, Wayne considered this as an analysis task to be approached objectively as with any other, such as the subject of evolution. The results of this analysis may surprise and even offend many, for some of his conclusions conflict with the long held views and teachings of traditional Christianity. None of this disputes the fundamental nature of God or the redemptive mission of the Messiah, just the way the latter is understood and in particular, the nature of the covenantal improvements and the applicability of Mosaic Law to Gentiles.

From the Back Pew series is published through his own company Peshat Books (staff of 1). See www.peshatbooks.com for more information on both the author and the series.
