Brian Westland

I am a teacher/avid record collector who has acquired thousands of recordings of popular music which encompass the genres of rock, jazz, blues, bluegrass, folk, etc. I am especially fond of traditional jazz, blues and country music recordings. The nearly forty I have spent in pursuit of my hobby has, I believe, endowed me with an in-depth knowledge of various forms of popular music.

I currently reside in China and decided to write my ebooks, "A Guide to Essential Popular Music-Volume 1" and "A Guide to Essential Popular Music-Volume 2," as a means of introducing my Chinese friends to the great breadth of Western popular music.

I am also an avid birder/bird photographer and pursue these endeavors with the same fervor with which I invest in my musical interests.
