I am a Professor of Interorganizational Management & Control at Ulm University and the Scientific Director of the International Performance Research Institute. My research focuses on management accounting, control systems, and business analytics, with particular emphasis on how accounting information and management controls shape organizational decision-making. I have a keen interest in field experiments, which allow me to analyze these processes in real-world business environments.

My work is published in leading academic journals, such as the Journal of Accounting Research, Contemporary Accounting Research, Journal of Management Control, Journal of Business Economics, and Electronic Markets. Some of my key publications include:

- Social Comparison on Multiple Tasks – Sacrificing Overall Performance for Local Excellence?

Co-authors: M. Kohler, M. Mahlendorf, T. Vogelsang

- The Role of Target Difficulty and Career Tournaments in Retaining Creative R&D Employees

Co-authors: M. Jung

- It's All About the Text – An Experimental Investigation of Inconsistent Reviews on Restaurant Booking Platforms

Co-authors: F. Fritzsche, A. Steur

Additionally, I regularly contribute to public discourse through media outlets like Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ).

In my efforts to connect academic research with practical applications, I engage in various initiatives that make cutting-edge insights accessible to professionals. This includes my podcast Controlling-Vordenker (available in German), which discusses current topics in management control and is accessible on major podcast platforms, including Apple Podcasts and Spotify.

Beyond academia, I frequently advise organizations and teach in Executive Education programs, working closely with business leaders to implement the latest research into practice.

I am always open to discussing new research opportunities, collaborative projects, or business challenges in my areas of expertise. Feel free to reach out to explore potential partnerships or further discussions.
