Constance Cooper's fantasy novel Guile will be published March 1, 2016 by Clarion Books, an imprint of Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. Her short stories have appeared in Asimov's Science Fiction, Strange Horizons, Lightspeed, and other publications. Her work has been nominated for the SLF Fountain Award, translated into Swedish and Hebrew, and included in "Best of" anthologies. She also writes sf poetry, which has twice been nominated for the Rhysling Award.
Constance holds an MA in Linguistics from the University of Pennsylvania and a BA in Journalism from the University of California at Santa Cruz. She has worked as a researcher for the Linguistic Data Consortium, a website developer, and a software engineer for a pioneering natural language search company. (There was also that stint as a professional balloon twister.)
She grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and has also lived in Surrey, England; Newfoundland, Canada; Philadelphia, PA; and Edinburgh, Scotland. She now lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her husband and two children. Her website lives at www.constancecooper.com.
