Richard E. Davis

Richard E. Davis was born in Monticello, Kentucky and has lived in metropolitan areas such as Los Angeles, CA; Chicago, IL; Springfield, MO; and Orlando, FL. He has been writing for over 50 years; his first novella, "Disaster at Havendale," won the 2015 Wildwood Fiction Prize over numerous international entrants. In addition, his monthly newspaper columns were published in a volume entitled, "Slice of Home, Slice of Life," in 2017 and the long-awaited sequel to DaH, "Storm's End," was released in February 2019. His latest work, "After Midnight," was released worldwide in February 2023 and features some of his favorite short stories.

Davis has spoken extensively about drawing much of his inspiration from the movies of Irwin Allen in the heyday of the epic disaster stories in the 1970's. "The Towering Inferno", "The Poseidon Adventure", and Earthquake" were just a few that met his criteria for success: "Fast-paced, full of action and suspense, with interesting characters."

He is currently working on several other novels and screenplays. He and his wife Jeannie live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
