Kenneth Adderley

Dr. Kenneth R. Adderley was born the eldest son of a minister in Nassau Bahamas. He entered college at the age of 16. After college, he served for one year at the United Nations as a junior diplomat (International Relations) for Uganda Mission to the U.N. Returning to the Bahamas a few years later, he became involved in politics.

When the new Black Government proposed independence without plans for open discussion of a white paper, Dr. Adderley started the People’s Advancement League (PAL) to alleviate the concerns of White expatriates living in the Bahamas at that time. As an advocate for the Conservative Democrats of the Progressive Liberal Party, the People's Advancement League (PAL) challenged the government’s proposal in order to force public debate. For this bold political action, Dr. Adderley was invited to attend the Bahamas Independence Talks in London as an "Official Observer in 1972," and because of his patriotism, was appointed to serve in the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism.

Resigning his government post several years later, and ten years later earned a second Master’s from the University of Memphis, and embarked on a career as a History Professor. After teaching on the University level for 12 years, he earned a terminal degree in Philosophy of Education, and is now a retired professor and author with Amazon.com.
