I was born and raised in Nova Scotia, Canada, where I attended college to study the culinary arts. After working in the food service industry, I joined the Army Reserve and later became an Artilleryman for the Regular Force.
Following my return from Bosnia in 2001, I began my life-long struggle with chronic pain and PTSD, both of which occurred as a result of my military experiences. I was later released from the Canadian Armed Forces.
Medical marijuana entered my life when pharmaceutical drugs failed to alleviate my pain. I researched extensively the effectiveness of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD) in the treatment of pain and PTSD, and was personally amazed to discover the relief that these natural ingredients provided.
I am now an advocate for the medical benefits of cannabis, and the healthier, smoke free ways of ingesting it. Medical Edibles is my first book, synthesizing my research and cooking experience to bring healing into the lives of people suffering from such medical conditions.
