Throughout my childhood, my parents attended evangelical Christian churches that viewed the Bible as the “Word of God” and church doctrine as "God’s Truth." During my senior year of high school, I began to question my faith, so I majored in psychology to learn how healthy families worked and minored in philosophy to examine other systems of belief. After completing a Master’s Degree in psychology with a minor in philosophy, I worked as a family communications counselor, a psychiatric social worker, and eventually as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) — working with children, adults, and seniors from several cultures — and they taught me much.

Shortly after it was published, I read about A Course in Miracles, which came from Jesus, and discovered that studying and practicing its lessons turned my life around. So I asked God if there was an ethical way for me to utilize what I was learning with my clients. He told me to “Start writing,” so I examined the latest research, and began to write about spirituality and mental health. This resulted four editions of Love, Spirit, and Mental Health: Counseling Psychology and A Course in Miracles. Then the Spirit of God asked me to compare Jesus’s teachings in the Christian Bible with his teachings in A Course in Miracles, which resulted in my second book. Then I published a volume of poetry entitled Spirit, Love, and Oneness: A Poetic Journey. My fourth and final assignment — The Indigenous Way: Wisdom Stories for Young People — was written as a gift to children and their parents.
