What do you get if you mix battleships with slipped discs, and fantasy with dinosaurs? Roar!!! A determined Scorpio whose interest in 'The Mighty Hood' would see him 'build a battleship' and strive to remember her crew. A kickboxer whose 3 slipped discs would see him 'refuse to bow' and inspire him to fight 'no matter the odds'. A creative whose 'skills with a pencil' would see him Dragon Fire 'in realms of fantasy' and remind him that 'no aims impossible'. A reader whose research into 'The Mesozoic Era' would learn him Tarbosaurus 'type of Tyrannosaurus' and confirm a belief 'that birds are dinosaurs'. For this Klingon speaking author says to you right now 'nuqDaq yuch Dapol'? A Galaxy of mine ... As within my spare time, you can find me: painting my model miniatures, servicing my car, playing classic computer games, watching vampire slayers, wondering about ghosts, and thinking about Megalodon. For this 'Nebula of Me' does enjoy a challenge: where thee who dares 'to take a different path', may find 'thy just desires' in Dragon's war cry - spelled me!!!

For when writing 'Slipped Disc Help - Through Hell and Back', I decided to take the stance of: 'declaring war on my 2 slipped discs lower back, 1 slipped disc upper neck' (August 2017) and fighting every day 'to get my health back'. I don't 'pull any punches' because when you've been 'busted back to the rank of baby' and have found that you're 'basically unable to do anything' - then it 'hits you hard' once you realise that 'everything which defines you, has been ripped out from underneath you'. For having multiple slipped discs 'is a life changing injury' that I have found 'has you seeing the other side of life' (for quite some time) - and whilst I was on 'the other side of life' I was continually tested by 'symptom after symptom': feeling sick, feeling faint, toilet pain, muscular pain, tingling down my left arm, burning sensations in my left foot, worrying about walking, and fretting about 'numbness sensations' throughout my body. As I now regard 'these all as challenges' with my greatest earlier trial 'being just trying to sleep' - to which I Dragon's war cry 'my art of war'!!!

For when writing 'Flagship Hood - Beyond the Depths', I found myself upon a journey 'which was as much to do with fate, as it was with war'. As around April 2008, I'd decided that I wanted to learn 3d modelling - so I did. Yet I wasn't sure 'what I wanted to model'. This decision 'was fated for me' in 2010 - when I came upon the name of 'HMS Hood'. Within a couple of weeks, I was hooked! Yet in those 'early days' I was only ever thinking about creating artwork of 'The Mighty Hood'. This started to change as I carried out 'a spiralling amount of research' for my model, because I realised that the 'name of Hood' was much more than just 'the metal that she was made of' - she was also a collection of her sailors 'hopes and dreams' and it was unfair of me 'to tell Hood's story' without me telling the story of her men as well. A challenge indeed! That would see me 'have highs and lows' as I asked myself: is this 'trial by sea' too complex? Roar!!! Because I believe 'that the crew of Hood' had wanted their story told - with fate it seems 'telling me' just when to finish.
