Alma Lazar

Alma Lazar acquired her technical degree in Tourism Business Administration at the Autonomous University of Guadalajara, Mexico, and later her BA at the Autonomous University of Baja California. As a student, she collaborated as a freelance writer with local newspapers. During her career, she worked part-time for the Baja California Government in the field of tourism, opening her travel agency, one year after graduation.

Due to her marriage and relocation to San Diego, California, in 1995, she decided to sell her travel agency and explore the world of “floral design,” which had kept her busy since then. In the meantime, she continued writing cultural articles for “NOVIAS,” a bilingual publication specializing in weddings. She later continued writing articles for different newspapers, some of which can be read on her blog.

She had lived a happy life surrounded by flowers until she had access to a story that changed her world. It was then that she felt the need to let her voice be heard and share this story with the world through the inspirational book When the Light Goes Out, published in English and Spanish in September 2020. The Spanish version, Cuando la Luz se Apaga, received an honorable mention from the International Association of Latin Authors as the most inspirational true story. And a silver medal in the contest book into movie from the same association. Alma Lazar launched another book, titled Dominance Delusions, and its Spanish version, Delirios de Dominio, in November 2024, and again was awarded Honorable Mention. At the same time, she released a revised edition of her first book, When the Light Goes Out, and its Spanish version. This author is working on her third book. All of her stories are inspired by true facts.
