Andrew Flachs is an associate professor of anthropology at Purdue University, a father of three children, and a semi-retired musician. His writing on sustainable agriculture has appeared in scientific venues including American Anthropologist, the Journal of Peasant Studies, and Nature:Plants, as well as in public-facing venues like Civil Eats, Salon, and the National Geographic Magazine. His research has been supported by groups including the National Science Foundation, the Social Science Research Council, the Fulbright Commission, and the National Geographic Society.
